Name: Jo Curtin
Current role/positions: Senior Grants Administrator, Community Broadcasting Foundation
How long have you worked in the sector? Where did you start out?
My love affair with community broadcasting started about fifteen years ago. I started out as a volunteer at SRA-FM and SYN Media in Melbourne while I was a student, doing production and the odd program during test broadcasts. I was later lucky enough to be the Manager of SYN for a few years as the station established itself as a full-time station, including the heady days of the transition from aspirant to launch and when SYN first started dabbling in multiplatform broadcasting on Channel 31. After I left SYN I was the Assistant Manager at Melbourne ethnic station 3ZZZ, then made my way to the CBF where I’ve been a part of the team that distributes and administers sector funds for nearly seven years.
