CMTO Pathways courses are a great way to kickstart your training. Courses are short, one-day sessions with no assessment and give you the opportunity to sample CMTO training before you decide to enrol in a nationally-recognised qualification.

Presentation

This one-day course for people already working on-air offers feedback, practise and ways to expand your presentation repertoire to make the most of your voice!

Media Law and OHS

A necessity for anyone who wants to go on air. This course covers codes of practice, defamation, copyright, privacy and other laws and regulations as well as OHS issues in radio and television stations.

Editing/Podcasting

In this age of multiplatform broadcasting, the first step to producing content for all platforms is prerecords and edits. This course introduces you to digital editing from initial recordings, through to editing and podcasting.

Interviewing

Learn how to research and plan interviews, ask great questions and make some great talk radio. Whether you are interviewing a rock star, a politician or activist, this six hour workshop will give all the tips you need.

Programming Review

We all know program reviews can be painful, so here's a course for programming committees and management/staff. Ensure you comply with the codes, meet the needs of presenters and communities you service, and most importantly, that you sound great!

Compliance

Participants will take a close look at whether their station is compliant with codes and regulations. A great health check for any station at any time, but a MUST for a station heading towards a licence renewal.

Board Induction/Governance

For community radio station boards members. Make sure everyone is on the same page and understands their role as a board member. You can even develop a board member’s handbook for your station.

Strategic Planning

A great course if your station has a website and needs to teach program makers how to update their pages, blogs etc. The course will be customised to suit your station’s needs.
